Elizabeth Kathryn Andrews
Elizabeth "Betty" Andrews, beloved Mother and devoted Grandmother, passed away at her home May 13th, 2013 at the age of 90.
Born July 2nd, 1922 in Des Moines, Iowa, Betty was one of five children of Tom and Elizabeth McCahill. After graduating from Mount Loretto Academy, she moved to the Pacific Northwest to join her family. Her father came to Seattle during the depression in search of work.
She married Patrick Andrews in 1950, and together they raised four children. Betty was a talented cook and seamstress. She also helped Pat with his business and managed their busy family when he traveled. Betty was very involved in her Parish, Our Lady of the Lake, and its altar society, the Maids of Mary. In her spare time she loved to play bridge and belonged to several clubs. Betty had a great devotion to the Virgin Mary and prayed the Rosary every night.
Betty's beloved husband, Pat, passed away in 1989. She is survived by one sister, Colleen McCahill; and four children, Mike (Kris) Andrews, Dan (Claudia) Andrews, Kit (Mike) Staubitz, and Steve (Judy) Andrews. In addition she is greatly missed by eight grandchildren: Caitlyn, Sean, Jake, Renny, Patrick, Maddy, Joseph and Gus.
A Mass of Christian burial is planned Friday, May 17th at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 8900 35th Ave. NE, Seattle, WA at 10:00 am. There will be a reception immediately following the Mass at the church.
Remembrances may be made to Our Lady of the Lake.
