CHRIST HOPPE
Christ Hoppe, 76, died suddenly of a heart attack Monday evening at the American Club at Kohler where he resided.
Born May 22, 1886, in Rheinwald, Russia, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Hoppe, he came to this country in 1906, and was employed at the Kohler Co. for 35 years before retiring in 1954. He was a member of the Kohler Quarter Century Club.
He was married to Amelia Ruppel Oct 10, 1909. In addition to the widow, he is survived by a son, John, of Sheboygan, and three daughters, Mrs. Joe (Sally) Bessette and Mrs. Joe (Viola) Dhein of Sheboygan and Mrs. Donald (Virginia) Michaels of Chilton; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A brother and one daughter preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Nickel's Funeral Home with the Rev. August Grollmus, pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Wednesday.
