Fred was a veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II. He worked for Armor Meat Packing Company for many years as a security guard and later owned and operated Dunagan's Auto Salvage Yard in Newcastle. He married Frances Autry in the summer of 1950 and they have made their home in Newcastle since 1958. Frances preceded him in death on November 28, 2010. Fred enjoyed participating at the Newcastle Senior Citizens and was a member of the NRA.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his brother and his two sisters.
Fred is survived by his sons, Joe Dunagan of Newcastle, Reverend Dale Dunagan and his wife, Tonya, of Ada, and Paul Dunagan of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Robert, Renyae, Cory and Matthew; great grandchildren, Brandon, Blake, De'Andre Jones and Cole Smith; and many other loved ones and friends.
