RINEHART----Mrs. A. M. Rinehart, a former resident of Alton and Portia, died at her residents in Smith Center last Sunday morning. Death was sudden, she having been sick but about a day, and was due to uremic poisoning.
The funeral was held from the house there Sunday afternoon, conduced by Rev. H.H. MacCullough of the Presbyterian Church and burial was made in Smith Center cemetery.
A large number of friends from Alton and Portia were in attendance.
Deceased was a sister to W. S. McClellan of Alton.
Anna McClellan Rinehart was born in New Lexington, Ohio, July 28, 1863.
She moved to Doniphan County, Kansas in 1869 and to Alton in 1878.
She was married in October 1882 to A.M. Rinehart.
They moved to Portia in the fall of 1884 but returned to Alton in
the fall of 1890. In 1896, the family removed to Smith Center, which place has since been their home.
Mrs. Rinehart was a lady of lovable character and very popular
with all who know her.
She is survived by her husband and one son, Melvin now grown
and married. Mr. Rinehart was engaged in the ??? business at
both Alton and Portia and that in his business now at Smith Center.
