AUGUSTA - Services for Robin Long Simpson, 86, will be held at 3 p.m. today, October 7, 2000, at the chapel of Poteet Funeral Home on Greene St. with Rev. Jim Holston officiating. Interment will be in Westover Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Craig Cook, Troy Bazzle, Terry Holcombe, Brooks Bazzle, Lewis Hudson. The family will receive friends 1-3 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Simpson, husband of Marguerite Bazzle Simpson, died Wednesday, October 4, 2000. Born in Fayetteville, Tenn., he was the son of the late Ernest Mile Simpson and Sarah Elizabeth Long Simpson. He served in the U.S. Air Force and had retired from Simpson Lumber Company which he and his father owned. He was also a former builder in Orangeburg, a member of the American Checker Foundation and a former South Carolina and Georgia State Champion.
Surviving are his wife of Augusta; nephews, Johnny Getzen of Orlando, Fla., Michael Ayers of Atlanta, Keith Bazzle of Prattville, Ala., Michael Bazzle of Utah.
