Claire Hood Jarnagin was born in Panora, Guthrie Co., Iowa July 9, 1908, to Beryl Kent and Abby Mae (Hood) Jarnagin. He graduated from Lohrville High School and in 1932 he was married to Maxine Collins in Lohrville. In 1936 they moved to Sac City, Iowa, where Claire worked as an automobile salesman.
Claire passed away on July 22, 1984 at the Loring Hospital in Sac City. Services were held at the First Christian Church, with burial in Oakland Cemetery. He was a member of the Mason's Occidental Lodge No. 178 AF and AM, Sac City, and the Order of Eastern Star No. 18
Claire was survived by his wife, Maxine; daughter, Mrs. John (Joyce) Irwin, Sac City; son, Jerald (Carolyn) Jarnagin, Ames; six grandchildren, and brothers, Max Jarnagin, Sac City, and Percy Jarnagin, Lohrville.
