Mary Evelyn Auker, 81, of Marietta, left this life, but not our hearts, at 10:55 p.m. Monday (May 16, 2005) from Heartland of Marietta.
She was born April 2, 1924, at home in Marietta, a daughter of Clealon Ritchie and Evelyn Mary Harris Ritchie.
She graduated from Marietta High School in 1942. Shortly after graduating, she moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked during World War II at the Pentagon and the Federal building. She also worked at B.F. Goodrich (presently known RJF) , Airolite, and the Social Security Administration in Marietta. She retired after 33 years of service for the government.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C. Stephen Auker; a son, Thomas Michael Auker; and an infant great-granddaughter, Abigail Elayne Tucker.
