Christine C. Lunsford March 24, 1921 May 20, 2005 Christine Lunsford passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 20, 2005, in Santa Maria, CA. She was 84 years of age. Christine was born in Shady Grove, Alabama, on March 24, 1921, and was the fourth of seven children to parents, Charlie and Sara Baxter. The family migrated to Lakeland, Florida, when she was a young girl and it was there, several years later, that she met and married her husband, Bud Lunsford. After their two sons were born they moved to Avenal, CA where they lived for many years before moving to Bakersfield in 1965. Her husband, Bud, preceded her in death in 1975. Christine will be remembered as a loving and unselfish person who placed her family, friends, and faith above all else. She maintained the highest personal standards throughout her life and touched many with her kindness and unselfishness. Christine is survived by her sons, Jerry of Bakersfield and Larry of Pismo Beach; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a Licensed Vocational Nurse for nearly forty years and was employed with the Manor Medical Group in Oildale before retirement. Christine was a member of the University Baptist Church in Bakersfield and regularly attended services when she was in good health. It was a joy in her life. She will be sorely missed by all those she touched and those who loved her. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon, on Friday, May 27, 2005, at Hillcrest Memorial Park, in Bakersfield. Visitation will be Thursday 3 to 7 p.m. Legacy.com
