YVONNE 'BONNIE' WALKER
June 8, 1928 - Feb. 7,2008
Yvonne "Bonnie" Walker, 79, Galveston, died at 10:46 p.m.
Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, at her home. She was born June 8, 1928, in
Harlan, Ky., the daughter of Emery and Ella (Howard) DePew. On
June 11, 1949, in Knoxville, Tenn., she married the Rev. Thomas J.
Walker, who preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 1998.
She was a homemaker who briefly worked for Cueno Press
for seven years. She was a member of Honey Creek Missionary
Baptist Church.
She is survived by five daughters, Norma Kay Lunsford, Galveston,
Teresa Elaine Lamb and her husband, Mike, Kokomo, Oneida Faye Scott
and her husband, Bob, Brownsburg, Judy Lynne King and her husband,
Tracy, Russiaville, and Ramona Lee VanNess and her husband, Butch,
Kokomo; 14 grandchildren, Ladonna Bookout, Tommy Lunsford and his
wife, Mendy, Brandy Welcher and her husband, Greg, Ashley Russell,
Derek Lamb, Jason Lamb, Jenny Lytle and her husband, Steve, Ben
Scott and his wife, Jenny, Wayne King and his wife, Miranda, Wade
King, Stephen Steward, Kimberlee Steward, Amber Morton and her
husband, Shane, and Candace VanNess; 12 great-grandchildren; a
special niece, Peggy Pharris and her husband, Henry.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one
daughter, Donna Marie Walker; one son-in-law, Larry Lunsford;
three brothers and four sisters.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Honey Creek
Missionary Baptist Church, 250 Nashville St., Russiaville, with
the Rev. Dave Coffman and her grandson Tommy Lunsford officiating,
Burial will follow in Russiaville Cemetery. Friends may call at
the church from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday and also one hour prior to the
service on Monday.
