Born February 18, 1920, in Edgefield, SC, he was the son of the late Preston B. Bryan and Velma (Odom) Bryan and the husband of the late Margaret (Anderson) Bryan.
A 1949 graduate of Wofford College and a 1959 graduate of Clemson College, he was a retired civil engineer and was Vice-President of Maguire/Harwood Beebe Consulting Engineers after 40 years of service.
He was a member of Fernwood Baptist Church, the Spartanburg Country Club, and a U.S. Army Air Corp Veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theatre.
Survivors include a son, Andy Bryan, a grandson, Drew Bryan, and a granddaughter, Katie Bryan, all of Lake Bowen; and five sisters, Mary Hobbs of Timmonsville, Elizabeth Bryan of Columbia, Martha Bryan of Darlington, Lena Brown of Depew, NY, and Nell Kelley of Martinez, GA.
He was predeceased by three brothers, P. B. Bryan, Ellis Bryan, and Glenwood Bryan; and a sister, Louise Bartley.
Visitation was 1:30-2:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2005, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel.
Funeral services followed at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. Dr. P. Randall Wright. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fernwood Baptist Church, 200 Fernwood Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
