He married Zetta Benoit on Aug. 25, 1952, in Damar.
He worked at Keller Furniture for many years. He was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays, and the Knights of Columbus and the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, both of Ellis.
Survivors include his wife. of the home; a son, Mark Gnad, Gainesville, Fla.; two daughters, Paula Roberts, Lakin, and Colette Gnad, Hays; a brother, John J. Gnad, Ellis; three sisters, Anne Doerfler, Hays, Johanna Gnad, Ellis, and Mary Ann Kepka, Great Bend; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays; burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Ellis. The Ellis Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus will stand honor guard at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 20th and Pine. There will be a parish vigil service at 6:30 p.m. and a combined Third and Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus rosary at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to a fund to be decided at a later time in care of the funeral home.
