Born in Scott County, Va., he resided most of his life in Kingsport.
He retired from Kingsport Iron and Metal after many years of service.
Jack was a great husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
His parents, Charlie and Ada Setzar Absher; sister, Mary Jenkins; four brothers, Willy Absher, Charles Absher, Sam Absher, and Conley Absher preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife, Faye Absher; three sons, Jeffery Ratliff, Bobby Absher, Jack Absher Jr., all of Kingsport; five grandchildren, Ashley Vaughn, Destiny Rattliff, Damon Rattliff, Krystal Rogers, and Logan Rogers; three brothers, Richard Absher, Mack Absher, Curtis Absher, all of Kingsport; several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at Chestnut Flats Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
