Zoa Hays Tobin was born Apr. 11 , 1878 in Lyon (Leon), Iowa, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Hays. As a small child the family moved to Manilla, Iowa. Following the death of her father in 1889 they moved to a farm residing there until 1900 when they moved to a farm north of Huron. She married Fred R. Tobin, Sept. 23, 1903 at Huron. They farmed in Fairfield township 40 years and moved to Huron in 1943.
Beside her husband, one daughter, one grandaughter, her parents, nine brothers, one sister preceded her in death.
Survivors include three daughters, Ellen Tobin, Frankfort; Mary Alice O'Niel, Huron; Harriet Ann Tobin, Chicago; three sons, Fred W. of Hitchcock; Richard L., Puyallup, Wash.; Joe J, Watertown; 9 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Nora Tobin, Huron; Mrs. Kate Iler, Laurel, Neb.
