She worked as a registered nurse in Orlando, Florida for many years before relocating to Tampa. Preceded in death by parents, Wilma P. and Bronest I. York Sr.
Survived by daughter, Carson; husband, Garrett Highsmith; brother, Bronest I. York, Jr.; wife, Judith; niece and nephew, Jennifer York & Jonathan Milam; Aunt Dean(Nadine); Aunt Tesse (Adrian's widow); mother-in-law, Janet Britten; husband, Paul; and numerous cousins.
A visitation will take place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 6th, at MacDonald Funeral Home 10520 North Florida Ave. followed by a closing prayer. On Friday, April 7th in Jacksonville, family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 pm at the Town & Country Funeral Home at 7242 Normandy Blvd. followed by a 2:30 pm graveside service at Riverside Memorial Park, Jacksonville, FL.
