Sylvester Bartholomew was a settler of 1852, although he was first a resident of Roscoe for about seven years. He marries Calesta Johnson, in Ohio, May 11, 1835. They were both members of the Methodist Church in Rockton. His wife was born Nov. 5, 1814 and died at the home of her son, O. T. Bartholomew, July 27, 1898.
