Knight, Duke of Exeter, Earl of Huntingdon and Ivry, Admiral of England, Ireland and Aquitaine. Lord of Lesparre in Aquitaine, Constable of the Tower, Constable of Fotheringhay Castle.

Son and heir of Sir John Holand and Anne Stafford, grandson of Sir John Holand and Elizabeth Lancaster, daughter of John of Gaunt and Blanche Lancaster, Edmund Stafford and Anne of Gloucester. Henry, or Harry, was born in the Tower of London.

He married Anne Plantagenet, the daughter of Sir Richard Plantagenet, Duke of York, and Cecily Neville, daughter of Ralph. They were married before 30 July 1447 and had one daughter, Anne, who would marry Sir Thomas Grey, Lord Ferrers.

Sir Henry was a staunch Lancastrian, and principal member of that party. In 1451, he was disposed of the castle, town and lordship of Lesparre, Aquitaine by Sir Pierre de Montferrand. Henry participated in Lord Egremont's uprising of 1454, but escaped and was ordered to appear before the Privy Council 25 June 1454, subsequently became a prisoner of Pontefract and Wallingford Castles, 1455. He was a commander at the Battle of Towton, and fled to Scotland after the battle, joining Henry VI and Queen Margaret in their exile in France. He was attainted in 1461, his estates given to his wife. When Henry VI was restored, Henry Holand returned to England. At the Battle of Barnet 14 April 1471, he was severely wounded and left for dead, but taken to sanctuary at Westminster, and taken into custody 26 May 1471 to 20 May 1475, when he was released.

Henry and Anne divorced 12 Nov 1472. Henry was ordered to the King's expedition to France, and drowned between Calais and Dover in September of 1475.

Anne married Sir Thomas Saint Leger in 1473, and died in 1476.
