Clara Virginia was the 4th child of Benjamin Horn [see memorial] born to his first wife, Regina Reppert. The rest of her siblings by Regina were: Caroline Amelia, Sophie O., Mary A., George, and Hannah Filmore [see memorial].

Clara most likely died of scarlet fever. Her step brother, Philip Reppert Horn, also died of scarlet fever two months before her.
