THORKELSON,MISS BERTHA J.Formerly of 2008 Washington Ave. Age 89, Passed away Saturday, Aug. 29, 1964 in the Lincoln Lutheran Home. MissThorkelson was born in Racine on Jan. 18, 1875, daughter of Matthias and Mary Eggen Thorkelson. She was a charter membe of Christ Church Methodist and a member of the W.S.C.S. Surviving are two nephews, William L. Thorkelson Jr. of Berwyn, Pa., and H. John Thorkelson of Mansfield Center, Conn.; four nieces, Mrs. Frank Bagwell, Newark, N.J., Mrs. Robert Ridell, Sheboygan, Wis., Mrs. William A. Draves, Fond du Lac, Wis. and Mrs. Richard Tiffany, Midland, Mich. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, her twin Halsten, William and Carl Edward Thorkelson, and a sister, Tillie Thorkelson. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2 p.m., in MOUND CEMETERY CHAPEL, Rev. Stanley Matz, and Rev. George Lester officiating. Interment will be in Mound Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wilson Funeral Home, 1139 Blaine Ave., this (Monday) evening and at MOUND CEMETERY CHAPEL from noon on Tuesday until time of services.
