SOMERS, Conn. - Sherie A. Cole, 22, of 40 Scully Road, died Wednesday in Rockville General Hospital, Vernon, after a one-car crash earlier in the day in Vernon.
According to Vernon police, Miss Cole was a passenger in a car driven by Michael Pinkin, 19 of 263 Burnham St., Manchester, Conn., when it went out of control on Route 83 at 1:14 a.m. and hit a support pole.
Police said Miss Cole and Pinkin were thrown from the car.
He was admitted to the intensive care unit of the hospital.
Another passenger in the car, Angela Supernant of South Windsor, was treated at the same hospital.
Police said the Thursday accident was under investigation.
She was born in Springfield and lived in SOmers most of her life.
She was a 1976 graduate of Somers High School and a 1978 graduate of Bay Path Junior College, Longmeadow, Mass.
She was a member of All Saints Church.
She leaves her mother, Patricia (Lombard) Cole; and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Cole of Bay City, Mich., and Theresa Lombard of West Springfield.
The funeral will be held Saturday morning at Somers Funeral Home and in the church with burial in West Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Connecticut branch of the juvenile Diabetes Association.
