WALES, MA - Patricia Ann Lombard Machnik, age 72, of Wales, Mass., died Friday, May 8, 2009 at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness, Florida. Mrs. Machnik was born in Biddeford, Maine on October 23, 1936, to the late George and Marie (Wood) Lombard and has been a winter resident in Inverness, FL for the past winter. Patricia retired from the Space Systems of Hamilton Standard in Windsor Locks, CT where she worked as a secretary for many years. Her love for animals was evident in as she was one of the founding members of Greyhound Options in Ware, MA and a volunteer at Noah's Ark Animal Hospital in Palmer, MA. She served the community as a assessor and as a member of the board of the Silver Meadow Senior Housing in Wales, MA. She is survived by her loving husband James P. Machnik, her step son Stephen J. and his wife, Jessica Machnik of Wales, MA, four step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sherrie Cole, her brothers George Richard Lombard and Edward Muchmore. There will be a memorial service on June 18, 2009 at 5 PM in the Crossway Christian Church (the old Palmer Grange) 1130 South Main St. Palmer MA thecrossway.org Contributions may be made to Greyhound Options or Noah's Ark Animal Hospital.
