ST. REGIS FALLS — The funeral for Hattie P. Sochia, 94, of
R.D. 3, Potsdam and formerly of St. Regis Falls, was held Oct. 26, 1987 at St. Ann's Church in St. Regis Falls with the Rev. Joseph Elliott, pastor of the Holy Cross Church in Hopkinton, officiating. Burial was in St. Ann's Cemetery, St. Regis Falls. Mrs. Sochia died Saturday Oct. 24, 1987 at the Canton United Helpers Nursing Home, where she had been a resident since August 1985. Surviving are four sons, Elroy of Parishville , Wilfred of Lawrenceville, Eli of R.D. 3, Potsdam, Timmie of Schenectady; nine daughters, Mrs. Ray (Blanche) Gunn of Brant Lake, N.Y., Mrs. Milton (Ann) Tharrett of St. Regis Falls, Mrs. Edith Regan of Lawrenceville, Mrs. Laura Benedict of Lake Placid, Mrs. Peter (Katherine) Susice and Mrs Clark Eldorp Tharret both of Dickinson Center, Mrs. Howard (Grace) Jenkins Jr. of Winthrop, Mrs. Root (Adele) Parker of St. Regis Falls, Mrs. Robert (Mary) Witherell of Potsdam; a brother, Leslie
Caskinette of North Bangor. She was predeceased by three
sons, Gilbert, Howard and James, and a daughter, Elsie. She was born Dec. 23, 1892 in St. Regis Falls, daughter of Gilbert and Mary Deblew Caskinette. She attended rural schools and married Edison Sochia on Oct. 9,1908 in St. Regis Falls. The couple operated a dairy farm on the Lake Ozonia
Road in St. Regis Fall's for many years. Mr. Sochia died in 1956
