Jack passed away Saturday, March 7, 2009, surrounded by his family, at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, after an extended illness.
Henry John Jensen was born October 26, 1935, in Davenport, a son of Leo J. and Edna (Bertram) Jensen. Jack was united in marriage to Mary Jo Hart on June 4, 1960. He served our country as a Dentist in the U.S. Navy. Jack was a graduate of St. Ambrose College and completed his degree in Dentistry at University of Loyola. Retiring in 2002 after 37 years in private practice, Jack continued to work part-time at Community Health Care.
Jack in prior years had been an active parishioner at Holy Family Parish and School, and was involved for many years at Assumption High School. He was a 4th degree Member of Knights of Columbus and participated in many professional organizations throughout his career.
Memorials may be made to either St. Paul's Church or Women's Choice Center, Bettendorf.
In addition to Mary Jo, his wife, those left to honor his memory include his daughters and sons-in-law; Eileen and Tom Heinold, Patricia and John Evans and Carrie and David Goldermann, all of Davenport, his seven grandchildren, Elizabeth, Rachael, Mary, Anna, Meredith, Matthew and Joe; two sisters, Nancy (Lou) Bakeris, Greendale, Wis., and Sue (Al) Way, Carroll, Iowa, a brother, Richard (Caryl) Jensen, Williamsburg; his sisters-in-law, Barbara Jensen, Middleton, Wis., and Jean Marie Jensen, West Des Moines; a brother-in-law, Robert Crum, Iowa City; as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren, Mary Karol Heinold and John Paul Goldermann, four sisters and three brothers. May they rest in peace.
