Muzzella Dade, age 81, of Canton, Mo passed away, Sunday, April 28, 2013 at the Lewis County Nursing Home in Canton, MO.
She was born April 19, 1932 in Lewistown, Mo a daughter of Virgil and Pearl Georgy Majors Clay. She married Walter James Dade on July 16, 1948. He preceded her in death in 1964.
Muzzella was of the Baptist Faith. She was an independent woman and hardworking who had worked at Culver Stockton College in Canton for a number of years. She also enjoyed gardening and hairstyling and most of all being with her family.
Survivors include three daughters, Joan (Floyd) Jackson of Park City, Ill, Janice Dade of Carthage, Ill and Barbara Jean Tate of Burlington, Ia.; four sons, Walter James Dade Jr., of Keokuk, Ia., Donnie (Julie) Dade of Hamilton, Ill., Eric Dade of Iowa City, Ia. and Bruce (Theresa) Dade of Antioch, Ill;
one brother, Ronnie Clay of Milwaukee, Wi.; two sisters, Gertrude Mallory of Quincy, Ill. and Darlene Spragues of Kentucky; grandchildren, Floyd Akua Jackson, Nigel Lee Jackson, Dawn R. Dade, Deron Douglas, Vicky Tate, Selena Drew, Dawn N. Dade, Devon Dade, Jamie Dade, Hope Dade and Walter Dade Jr.; and numerous great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Rex, Harold, Everett, Joe, Donald, Branble, and Bernard, sisters, Sylvia, Virginia and Normal Jean.
Visitation will be held Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton with Rev. John H. Mims officiating. Burial will be in Monticello Cemetery, Monticello, Mo.
Honorary Pallbearers are Walter James Dade Jr., Donnie Dade, Eric Dade and Bruce Dade.
Pallbearers are Nigel Jackson, Devon Dade, Corbin Dade, Travis Scott, Jeffrey Tate and Jarred Tate.
Music by Rev. John H. Mims vocalist, Precious Lord and Amazing Grace.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Lewis County Nursing Home.
