On the 1880 census, Minta is teaching school. Before her marriage, she also worked on the 'Review and Herald' newsletter for the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Battle Creek, MI. Marrying Harmom Kenyon 20 Dec 1885, Minta was Harmon's second wife. Her father, George, was living with them in 1900. After Harmon died, Minta was engaged in colporteur work, the distribution of religious literature, for the Adventist; she literally wore herself out
