CANANDAIGUA - Matthew Miller Barber, age 19, passed away
unexpectedly on Friday, Oct. 21, 2005 at F.F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua.
Matthew was a 2004 graduate of Canandaigua Academy and was
currently attending Finger Lakes Community College studying restaurant management. He was employed at Manetti's Restaurant in Canandaigua.
Matt was an avid cook, hunter, fisherman and hockey player.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, David and Brenda Barber; and mother and stepfather, Cindy and David Galens, all of Canandaigua; sisters, Denise (Andy) Dohse of Walworth and Emily Galens of Canandaigua; paternal grandparents, Jerry and Betty Barber; and maternal grandparents, Brad and Ruth Stanton, all of Canandaigua;
step-grandmother, Mary Bailey of Himrod; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and good friend, Matt Eddy.
Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Kennedy and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 15 Bristol St., Canandaigua. His funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 100 N. Main St., Canandaigua.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canandaigua. In lieu of flowers, contribution's in Matt's memory may be made to Canandaigua Knights Hockey Conference, P.O. Box 501, Canandaigua, NY 14424.
