Grace L. Pecht, 83, of Chambersburg, formerly of the Mount Union area, died on Monday evening, January 3, 2005, at the Village of Laurel Run Nursing Home, Fayetteville, Pa.

Grace was born on August 9, 1921, in Mount Union, Pa., the daughter of the late Samuel Warren and Myra Naomi (Smith) Hess.

She married Raymond R. Pecht on October 10, 1940, in York, South Carolina. Her husband preceded her in death on September 9, 1997, having been married for nearly 57 years.

Mrs. Pecht is survived by the following children: Kaylene Steel, and husband Sam, of Chambersburg, Pa.; Richard Pecht, and wife Kathy, of Newburg, Pa.; Judy Glenny, and husband Ron, of Shippensburg, Pa.; Debby Wagaman, and husband Bill, of Fayetteville, Pa.; Naomie Linn, and husband Terry, of Newton Hamilton, Pa.; and Cindy Wilson, and husband Steve, of Chambersburg, Pa. There are 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and the following brothers and sister surviving: Robert Hess of Walpole, New Hampshire, Charles Hess of Nescopeck, Pa. and Arlene Rinker of Mount Union, Pa.

She was preceded in death by an infant child and a son, Frederick; a brother, Kenneth; and two sisters: Margaret Latherow and Patricia Harven.

Grace graduated from Mount Union High School. She was a homemaker. Grace was an avid crafter.

She was a member of the Allenport United Methodist Church.

The funeral service be conducted at 10 a.m., on Saturday, January 8, 2005, at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, with Pastor Philip Zook officiating. Interment will be in Bowman's Chapel Cemetery, RD 1, Mapleton.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, January 7, from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Saturday, from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
