Jeffrey E. Oehler, 61, of Hudson, Illinois, passed away at 12:40 a.m. on Monday, April 29, 2013 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois.
He was born on April 2, 1952 in Normal, Illinois, to Edward H. and Frances (Millikin) Oehler. He married Shellie Patton on February 14, 1983 in Danvers, Illinois.
Jeff farmed for many years in the Danvers area. In his recent years, he loved being outdoors in the fresh air soaking up the sunshine that he loved so much. He looked forward to family gatherings on the lake, especially the activities and the fireworks during the Fourth of July festivities on Lake Bloomington. While Jeff's life for the past 25 years was full of challenges and pain, he never lost his sense of wit and humor. Despite his problems, he was always able to bring a smile to your face and make you laugh. He was an inspiration to everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving are his wife, Shellie; his parents; two daughters, Brea Anne Duke and Amy Gill and four grandchildren, Hayden and Isabella Duke, Tyler Nelson and Addison Gill. Also surviving are his sister, Beth (Roger) Yoder; brother, Gary (Sue) Oehler; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Cremation will be accorded. East Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
