Orson Spencer Fitchett was
born near Newell, Iowa, August
4, 1893 to John Thomas
and Maggie Eveline Fitchett.
He passed away November 28
at the age of 65 years, three
months, three weeks and three
days. He was the oldest of 10
children. He grew to manhood
in the Newell community and
lived here his entire life.
On March 10, 1915 he was
united in marriage to Mary
Christine Johnson. To this
union were born eight children;
Ivan of Storm Lake, LeRoy,
Doris (Mrs Walter Waterman),
Ruth (Mrs Vernon Arends)
of Newell; Pearl, (Mrs
John Marlatt); Jean (Mrs
Floyd Banks), Fern (Mrs Glen
Crowley) all of Storm Lake,
and Joyce (Mrs Don Robbins)
of Alta.
Orson farmed near Newell
until he retired and moved to
the north edge of Newell in
1939. He lived there until the
time of his death.
