Mrs. H. Reuben Died Saturday: Funeral Held in Kanawha Tuesday Afternoon

Friends and relatives of Mrs. Henry Reuben were shocked when they heard the sad news of her sudden death Saturday morning. The day before she had been somewhat indisposed but awoke Saturday morning feeling well. While accompanying her husband, who was about his morning work, she was suddenly seized by a heart attack. After being carried to her home she rallied for a short time but soon another attack followed which terminated her life, before the physician who had been summoned was able to arrive.

Mrs. Henry Reuben, nee Nellie Abbas, was born June 6, 1874 in Grundy Center, Ia., and latter accompanied her parents who moved to the vicinity of Kanawha. On December 12, 1894 she was married to Henry Reuben and later moved to a farm seven miles north-east of Kanawha, where she was living at the time of her death. She was summoned from this earthly life Saturday morning, April 19, 1930, having reached the age of 55 years, 10 months and 13 days.

Her departure is mourned by her husband, her aged mother, Mrs. B. Abbas, of Kanawha, three children, Mrs. Dick Betten, Will and Ben; also one brother, George Abbas and two sisters, Mrs. Harm Boeckholt and Mrs. Charles Seebeck and two grandchildren. Her father and her older sister preceded her in death.

Mrs. Henry Reuben was well known in this community, having resided here for over 37 years. With her husband she made confession of faith at the Wright Christian Reformed Church and was a charter member off the local church of this denomination, joining by letter at the time of its organization. She was acquainted with the way of salvation through Christ and professed to be a loving wife and mother and her departure is keenly felt by her husband, children and relatives.

The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Christian Reformed Church under the direction of Rev. D. H. Plessscher. Interment was made in the Kanawha cemetery.
