Obituary, Beamsville Express, Mar. 10, 1943, p. 1:

The sudden passing on Thursday afternoon of Mrs. Sarah High at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Loyell Martin, Clinton Township, came as a shock to the community as the deceased was in good health until a few days ago and was one of the oldest and best loved persons in the locality. The late Mrs. High was born near Beamsville on June 28th, 1854, the daughter of the late Philip and Margaret Hoffman. Seventy-one years ago they moved to Tintern and resided on a farm now occupied by a nephew , Mr. Orland Hoffman. On Oct. 31, 1876, she was married to Benjamin High and took up farming near Beamsville on the farm now occupied by her son, Daniel. Upon the death of her husband 17 years ago, Mrs. High has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Loyell Martin. In religion, deceased was a Presbyterian, but was a faithful adherent of Tintern United Church and was a valued member of the W.M.S. and W.A. for many years. Surviving are one daughter (Edna) , Mrs. Loyell Martin of Tintern, and three sons, Phillip, Daniel W. and William, all of Beamsville, also nine grandchildren and one great grandchild; also one brother, Philip, of Fenwick, one brother, Jacob, predeceased he a year ago, and three sisters, (Phoebe) Mrs. O.N. Beamer, (Ellen) Mrs. A.D. Stirtzinger, both of Beamsville, and (Lillie) Mrs. O. Wills, of Welland, also a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held from the homer of her daughter on Sunday afternoon with service at 2.30 o'clock. many sympathizing relatives and friends attended to pay their final tribute of respect. The male quartet, Messrs. Frank Martin, Melvin Moore, Morrison Comfort and Clarence Martin, accompanied by Mrs. B.L. Sherk, sang three request numbers, "Jesus Keeps Me," "City Four Square" and "Beautiful Land." Interment took place in the family plot in Vineland Mennonite cemetery amid many tokens of sympathy. Rev. G. Ivany officiated at the services. Six grandsons, Ralph Martin [and] Norman, Isaac, Bert, Daniel and Loyell High acted as casket bearers.
