He was employed at Hamilton Knife for more than twenty years, retiring in 2005.
He is survived by
his wife, Carrie E. (Baker) Dayhoff of Fairfield Township, whom he married March 18, 1960 in Thurmont, MD;
four children, Roy Dayhoff, Bonnie Dayhoff, both of Hamilton, Cathy (Bryce) Petree of Hagarstown, MD and Dennis (Susan) Smith of Thurmont, MD;
two brothers, Roland (Shirley) Dayhoff of Knoxville, MD and John Dayhoff of Rocky Ridge, MD;
four sisters, Romaine Reifsnider of Keymar, MD, Betty Brown of Lothian, MD, Barbara Campbell of New Philadelphia, OH, and Nellie (George) Hall of Clover, SC;
9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Larry Smith.
Funeral service at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue with Rev. Rick Witt of Faith Pentecostal Church of Hamilton officiating. Entombment in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum.
