DEATH RECORD.
Mrs. Wm. Cook.
Mrs. Susan Cook, wife of Wm. Cook, died at her home in Tennessee township Dec. 21st, and was buried yesterday in what is known as the King burial grounds, five miles southwest of Tennessee.
Deceased's maiden name was Waddill. She was born in Carter county, Tenn., 64 years ago. She moved with her parents to Illinois at an early age and grew up in McDonough county where she was united in marriage with Wm. Cook in 1852. She leaves besides her husband three sons, John W., Chas. M. and James T.; the two former married, the latter living at the old home. For a year before her death Mrs. cook was afflicted with a diseased toe, the exact nature of which was not understood. The sore persistently failing to heal it was decided to amputate the member, which was done Dec. 1st. But the disease had gone too far--had become constitutional; blood poison set in and death resulted as above stated. Mrs. Cook was a woman of high character, a kind neighbor and friend.

Susan's mother was named as the former Elizabeth Roisten in several biographical sketches of Waddill family members, including one for John Waddill, Susan's father. However, the spelling Roisten is almost non-existent in a global search of U.S. census records, so Royston is more likely the one used by the family.
