Phoenix Sandefur was born in Lafayette County, Wis., May 2nd, 1843, and died after three weeks sickness, July 11th, 1902, aged 59 years. He was united in marriage with Miss Mary Jackson, May 19th, 1864, who now survives him. Their family consisted of five children, four sons and one daughter, The second son, Charlie, was accidentally killed on the railroad. The surviving children are Milbourn, of this city, James, Minneapolis, and Susie now Mrs. Clyde Metcalf, of Darlington. The deceased also leaves to mourn him five sisters, Mrs. H. Fox, Mrs. Michael Newman, Mrs. Geo. Humphries, of California, Mrs. Robert Monahan, Grand Island, Neb., Mrs. Samuel Hamilton of this city, and two brothers, Robert and Allen, both of California.
The funeral was held Sunday at 3 o'clock at the residence. The remains were interred in Union Grove Cemetery.
