Deceased Name: Jay E. Morris

Jay E. Morris, 74, of 725 Seventh St., Hilltop Mobile Home Park, Bloomington, died at 10:40 p.m. Sunday (April 16, 2000) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
His funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, and at 10 a.m. at Epiphany Catholic Church, Normal. The Rev. Thomas Maloney will officiate. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Normal. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with a prayer service at 6 p.m.

Memorials may be made to American Kidney Fund; American Heart Association; or a charity of the donor's choice.

Mr. Morris was born May 16, 1925, at Fairbury, the son of Joseph and Ella Koerner Morris. He married Clara Mae "Pud" Pool on June 24, 1946, in Fairbury. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons; one sister, Marguerite (Ernest) Poor, Burke, Va.; three brothers; eight grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

His parents, one son and one brother preceded him in death.

Mr. Morris was a retired insurance agent of Prudential Insurance Co., where he worked for 28 years.

He was a member of Epiphany Catholic Church, Normal; and Bloomington Knights of Columbus 574, where he was a co-chairman of the Tootsie Roll Drive for many years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He will be missed by all who knew him.
