Imogene Lula Jones went home to be with the Lord Saturday, May 7, 2005, after a lengthy illness at the age of 75 years. She was born Sept. 3, 1929 to the late Charles Schynder and Delphnia Marie Osborne Wales.

Services will be Tuesday, May 10, 2005, at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in New Deal, with Dr. Terry Jones and Rev. Joel Perez officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy. Burial will be at City of Lubbock Cemetery.

Imogene married Edward L. Jones, Jan. 14, 1950, in Caldwell. She was a member of First Baptist Church, New Deal. She had a great love for children of all ages. From the time she was a teenager she taught children inSunday School and Vacation Bible School and she owned and operated a day care in her home until her health began to decline.

Imogene was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Stanley Bryan Jones.

She is survived by her husband, Edward of Abernathy; a daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Glen McCullough of New Deal; a son, David Jones of Columbus, OH; 2 grandsons, Derrick McCullough and wife Kerri and Travis McCullough; 2 sisters, Marie Upton of Fischerand Maxine Martin of Lubbock; and one brother, Charles S. Wales of Dimmitt.
