Jesse E. Bankston, 81, died Friday at Candler General Hospital.
He was born in Jenkinsburg and had been an investigator for U. S. Customs Service and was a former employee of Department of Defense in Warner Robins. He was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, AARP and National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps and had been stationed at McDill Air Field.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Bankston of Savannah; one son, Johnny Eugene Bankston of Diana, Texas; two daughters, Mary Ann Vines and Brenda Jean Bryant, both of Savannah; two brothers, Alton L. Bankston of Macon and Wesley Bankston of Decatur, Ala; one sister, Carol Dasher of Graniteville, S.C. and six grandchildren.
Funeral 11 a.m. Monday at Cokesbury United Methodist Church, burial in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.
Fox and Weeks, Hodgson Chapel of Savannah.
