Johnny Bernard Christion, 58, died Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be at 12 noon Saturday, April 27, at Friendship Baptist Church in Sioux Falls, with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Johnny was born June 6, 1954 in Sweatman, MS to John D. and Willie Mae (Taylor) Christion. As a young man Johnny worked for Allied Products in Memphis, TN. He graduated from high school in Memphis and completed training in auto mechanics and truck driving school. He held various truck driving jobs throughout the years.

Johnny worked for John Morrell, Jostens, FedEx, Sara Lee, and most recently Show Place Wood Products.

Johnny married Barb Poss on July 1, 2001 in Las Vegas, NV.

Grateful for having shared Johnny's life are his wife, Barb of Lennox, SD; children- Steven (Becky) Thomas, Sioux Falls, Lakisha Christion, Memphis, TN, Clinton Ostrom, Ft. Meyers, FL, Cameryn (Aaron) Friesz, Sioux Falls, Cassius Christion, Ipswich, SD, and Caitlin Christion, Sioux Falls; step-children- Lt. Colonel Michael (Dawn) Poss, Bellevue, NE, Tricia Zimmer, Marshall, MN, Shelly Poss, Las Vegas, NV, and Ryan Poss and fiancee, Stephani, Tea, SD; father and mother-in-law, Roy and Audrey Steffes, Ivanhoe, MN; 9 grandchildren; and 6 step-grandchildren. He also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and brother and sisters-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John D. and Willie Mae Christion, his daughter, Nakisha, and granddaughter, Calixidy Christion.

Johnny loved being in the outdoors, fishing and hunting, especially at the farm owned by special friend, Irma Pick. He also loved to ride his motorcycle and spend time at the Brant Lake Cabin giving rides on the pontoon.
