Lynn Cox, 89, of Clinton, MO, formerly of the Bevier, MO, area, passed away Monday, December 10, 2012, at the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton. Lynn was born on November 14, 1923, in Bevier, MO, the son of Norris and Ruth (Love) Cox. He was united in marriage to Charlene Isbeque. Lynn worked as an office manager for Peabody Coal for 37 years. He was a school board member in Bevier for many years and enjoyed fishing and especially spending time with his family. Lynn is survived by one son, Lucien Cox of Macon, one granddaughter, Paige Watkins, five great-grandchildren, one brother; Major General John V. Cox and his wife, Pat of McLean, VA, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife on July 11, 2003, one daughter, Peggy Romero, and two sisters, Josephine Jansens and Nancy Smith. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 13, 2012, at 1:00 pm at the Hutton and McElwain Funeral Home in Macon. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Macon. The first visitation will be Wednesday evening, from 6 pm to 8 pm, at the funeral home and the second visitation will be Thursday from 12:00 noon until the time of service. The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Association.
