Helen Butler Kroeger
(August 9, 1925 - April 22, 2013)

Helen Butler Kroeger, 87, returned to her loving Heavenly Father on Monday, April 22, 2013.

She was born August 9, 1925 in Ogden, Utah to Harvey and Mary Butler. She graduated from Weber High School in 1943.

While working at the Defense Depot of Ogden, she met her eternal companion, Earl F. Kroeger. They were married June 11, 1946 in Ogden, Utah and their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple the following year.

Helen was very active in the LDS Church and the community serving in several positions including President of the Primary, Relief Society and PTA. She was also a member of Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and served in several capacities. Helen and Earl served an LDS mission in Roanoke, West Virginia and worked for 11 years in the Ogden Family History Center.

After moving to Clinton, Helen started working at the Stevens Cannery. She was also a cook at the T.B. Hospital in Ogden, St. Benedict's Hospital and Davis School District.

Helen had a beautiful voice. She sang solos and with various groups for many years.

She loved people and people loved her and her big smile. She adored her family and was the gracious, loving matriarch of her posterity.

Helen is survived by her husband; five children, Mary Devlin, Elaine (David) Smith, Fred (LouAnn) Kroeger, LuWana (Mike) Nielsen, Doug (Heidi) Kroeger; 25 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Clarence Butler, Ellis Butler, Merlin Butler and Lynn Butler.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Evelyn Jepson.

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." (2Timothy 4:7)

Helen's family would like to express their deepest gratitude to all of the staff at Lotus Park for their loving care of our sweet mother.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 27th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.

The family will meet with friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Clinton City Cemetery.
