Lisbon, March 31 - Matthew Cannon, 82 years old, died last night at his home in Elkrun township, three and a half miles southeast of Lisbon. Mr. Cannon had been failing rapidly for the last year. The immediate cause of death was uremic poisoning.

Mr. Cannon was a lifelong resident of Columbiana county. He was born on the Cannon Mills farm on the road between Lisbon and East Liverpool. The mill, and old landmark, having been built by his father, Lindsay Cannon. In early life, Mr Cannon was married to Miss Elizabeth Hepburn, a daughter of Hannibal Hepburn, of Elkrun township. She preceded him in death five years ago. For many years, the farm on which Mr. Cannon died has been the family home. Three children, Emmett, of Lisbon, John, at home, and Miss Alice, a clerk in Ogilvie's store in East Liverpool, survive.

Funeral services will be held at the house Monday forenoon at 10:30 o'clock, Rev. G. W. Grate, of Signal, officiating. Interment in the Carlisle graveyard, sometimes known as the Van Fossan burial ground, in the vicinity of the Cannon home.
