William Kirts, 86, a retired carpenter, died at 1 a.m. Friday at 1038 Cottage Avenue, the home of Mrs. John T. Carroll, where he resided. He had been ill three years.
His wife, the former Laura Schulz, died in February 1951. He was born in Brown county Oct. 18, 1878, to William, and Sarah Phegley Kirts [Hannah Taylor.] A brother, Lewis Kirts of Columbus, and sister, Mrs. Serepta Henderson of Mattoon, Ill., survive. Two brothers, Andy and Harvey, and two sisters, Nancy Freese and Martha Brown, preceded him in death.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Reed Funeral home with burial at Garland Brook cemetery. The Rev. Jess Moody of Mt. Carmel Pilgrim Holiness mission church will conduct the rites. Persons may call at the funeral home after noon Sunday.
