KERNERSVILLE — Mr. David Allen Hill, 42, a resident of 2414 Londonderry Road, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2013, at his residence. He was born in Davidson County on March 23, 1970, the son of Ishmael Hill and Deborah Baker Slaydon. He was a member of Mills Home Baptist Church and had served in the U. S. Navy in the Desert Storm War, serving on the USS Saipan. He was preceded in death by his father, maternal and paternal grandparents and great-grandparents.
Surviving are his fiancé, Jennifer Salyers, of the home; one son, Matthew Jarrett of Trinity; his mother, Deborah Slaydon and husband Rick of High Point; brother, Scotty Hill and wife Luci of Thomasville; and special canine friends, Sugar, Precious, Lil' bit and Lucky.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Union Cross Baptist Church, 4350 High Point Road, Kernersville, with Rev. Mark Ashworth and Rev. Billy Parham officiating. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday, from 1 to 2 p.m., prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to S. P. C. A. Humane Society of Forsyth County, 61 Miller Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
