Blease Bass
SUMMERFIELD-Mr. Blease Bass, 83, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2011 at his residence. He was born November 9, 1927 in Robeson Co. to the late Lonny and Fanny Bass. Mr. Bass was a very active member and served as a Deacon at Waughtown Baptist Church, and was a United States Marine Corp. Veteran. He was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Bass. Surviving are his beloved wife of 64 years, Nona Lennon Bass of the home; one daughter, Teresa Bass Garlick and husband Mike of Summerfield; one sister, Bernice Jackson of Bladenboro; and three grandsons, Stephen, Alex, and Zachary Garlick. A Graveside Service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at Galeed Baptist Church Cemetery in Bladenboro. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 4:00 PM Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Waughtown Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Brackett officiating. Memorials may be made to Special Friends at Waughtown Baptist Church, 1538 Waughtown Street Winston-Salem, NC 27107-3547. Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the Bass family.
