Julia Rich Kurtz of Naples, Florida, formerly of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, died April 17th, 2013.

She was born in 1920 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania to Robert Fleming Rich and Julia Trump Rich. She attended National Cathedral School in Washington, D.C., while her father was in Congress and later graduated from Connecticut College.

She married Charles ­Hertzler Kurtz of Altoona, Pennsylvania, whom she met at summer camp when they were 12. They lived most of their married life in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where they raised their family. Dr. Kurtz was Head of Pediatrics at St. Joseph's Hospital for 14 years and founded Lancaster Pediatric Associates. She is survived by 3 children and their spouses, Julia Scott Ferry (William Ferry) of Naples, Florida and Gilford, New Hampshire; Robert Rich Kurtz (Candice Kurtz) of Charlottesville, Virginia; and Charles Hertzler Kurtz of Lititz, Pennsylvania. She has 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Julia was a great sportswoman who enjoyed playing golf and tennis with her friends of all ages. She was a member of Lancaster Country Club in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and Hole in the Wall in Naples, Florida.

She has lived the last 10 years at Moorings Park in Naples, Florida. She is a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Naples, Florida.

A Private Family Memorial Service will be held in Woolrich, Pennsylvania later this summer
