He was survived by his wife and three children, Mary, aged 16, John, aged 10, and Marie, aged 7 months, all at home; and two sisters, Mrs. John [Eliza Jane] Reik of Roaring Spring and Mrs. Mary Swartz of East Sharpsburg.
He was employed at Saxton as a mechanic by the Huntingdon and Broad Top Railroad company.
He was a member of the Stonerstown Church of the Brethren.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. C. H. Holsinger, pastor of the Martinsburg Church of the Brethren. Interment was made in the Stonerstown Brethren cemetery.
