PELION — Funeral services for Mr. Clifford O. Lawson, 74, will be held 1 o'clock Sunday, July 24, 2005, at New Vision Baptist Church with The Reverend Alvin Roof officiating. Interment will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens with military honors. The family will receive friends from noon until 1 o'clock prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to New Vision Baptist Church. Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lawson died Wednesday, July 20, 2005. Born in Marietta, GA, he was a son of the late Joseph Carl and Cecil Power Lawson. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Conflicts. Mr. Lawson, formerly of Marietta, GA, had been a resident here since 1975. He had retired from C.E. Taylor & Sons and was a member of New Vision Baptist Church.

Survivors are his wife, Minnie McIver Lawson; daughter, Debbie Lawson both of Pelion; sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and LeVera Lawson of Little Mountain, Joe and Tammy Lawson of Blythewood, David and Rita Lawson and son, Michael Lawson, all of Pelion; his nephew, Jody Lawson of Georgia.
