Lewis Schild, age 97 of Norwalk, died on October 8th, 2022 at Fischer Titus hospital. He was born September 8th, 1925 in Norwalk, OH, and was the youngest son of Lloyd and Julia (Linder) Schild.

He graduated from Norwalk High School in 1943. He began his military service in the U.S. Army in 1944 and served as a Military Policeman (MP) with the 701st and the 703rd Military Battalions. After his discharge in 1946, Lewis married Virginia Eileen Weaver on September 23th, 1946 in Maryland. After the death of Virginia in 1984, he married Mary Ann Sisson on November 11th, 1989.

Lewis returned to Norwalk in 1948 and was employed by Norwalk Truck Lines for two years. He became a mechanic for the local Dodge-Plymouth dealership for six years before becoming a truck driver for W.L. Mead Inc. and for Industrial Powder Coatings until 1997. He continued to work for Industrial Powder Coatings into his 80s. Lewis was a giver of life by donating his blood to the America Red Cross well into his 90s. He was also an avid baseball fan and loved to follow the Cleveland Guardians (Indians). He loved playing Dartball and was in a couple of Dartball Leagues in Norwalk. As a devout Christian, he loved to share his faith with others and served St. Peter Lutheran Church as a youth counselor, Sunday School teacher, and a lector.

Lewis was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Eileen, and his second wife, Mary Ann; son-in-law, Donald Allen, grandson, Derek Allen, and stepson Thomas Sisson. Survivors include daughter, Sandra Allen of Norwalk, son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Janel Schild of Missouri, grand-daughter and husband, Suzann and Dean Stanford of Tennessee, grandson and wife, Christopher and Beth Schild of Georgia; Great-granddaughters, Tenille (Ben) Mantooth, Harmony (Austin Owen) , and Brianna all from Tennessee; Step-children, Michael J. Sisson of Norwalk, Leslie R. (Anthony) Miller of Norwalk, and Scott (Nancy) Sisson of Norwalk and several step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, October 12, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services beginning at 11 a.m. at the St. Peter Lutheran Church, 243 Benedict Ave, Norwalk.
