Ewell Oliver "Taylor" Malone, 91, of Benton, died on April 18, 2013 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland.
Funeral services were held April 20 at Midway Baptist Church with Rev, Gene Richardson officiating. Burial followed at Midway Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
Mr. Malone was born June 13, 1921 in Yazoo County to I.D. Malone and Julie Burrell. He was a retired road foreman and was also a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a lifelong member of Midway Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Judy Ketchum; and grandson, Oliver Doyle Malone.
Survivors include his wife, Viola Luby Malone of Benton; daughter, Janice Richardson (Gene) of Kosciusko; two sons, Terry Malone (DeBe) of Madison, and David Malone of Yazoo City, sister, Christine Jones, of Gulfport; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Serving as pallbearers were Brent Richardson, Ken Ketchum, Lane Malone, Austin Malone, Brady Richardson, Breck Richardson, Adam Malone and Justin Carter.
Honorary pallbearers are Marlon John Stubblefield, Harris Ables, David Gene Ketchum, Donald Ray Ketchum, Clayton Davis, and Ronnie Davis.
