Transferred on January 14, 1862, to Band and rank changed to Musician. Mustered out on August 16, 1862, at Culpeper, Virginia. Rank change on August 17, 1862, to 2nd Lieutenant and mustered on October 22, 1862, into Company I, 11th Regiment (Scott's 900), New York Cavalry (Union). Commissioned Rank: 2nd Lieutenant. Transferred to Company "G" on November 20, 1862. Battles, Skirmishes, and Engagements: Poolesville, Md. (December 14, 1862). Regiment ordered to Dept. of the Gulf in March 1864, and duty in the District of Lafourche, Louisiana. Action at New River, La., May 15, 1864. Regiment attached to District of Baton Rouge, La., Dept. of the Gulf in June 1864. Resigned on July 16, 1864. Filed for Invalid Pension on April 24, 1886 (Application No. 570,916 and Certificate No. 435,833).
