She was married to Carl Benfield on July 6, 1946. They moved to Anderson in 1953 where Carl was employed by General Motors. Delza was a homemaker and mother. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Carl Benfield, son, Henry S. Hank Benfield, grandson, Carl Travis Benfield, great-grandsons, Carl and Hunter Benfield, her daughter, Linda (husband Donald) Haynes and granddaughter, Rebecca Leigh Williams. Also surviving are sisters, Lorena (deceased husband Floyd) Thomas of Elwood, and Della (husband Gene) Raines of Morristown, Tennessee, brothers, Charles (wife Shirley) and David of Painesville, Ohio, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Irene Quesenberry, and Nadine Flanagan, both of Jonesville, Virginia and Lena Healin of Morristown, Tennessee. Also preceding her in death were brothers, Bill, Rayburn and Clarence, all of Painesville, Ohio. Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes and Crematory, South Chapel in Anderson will transport Delza to Province Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, Virginia, where services will be conducted with burial at Millers Chapel Cemetery in Jonesville, Virginia. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the donors charity of choice.
